V/A is a work in progress research carried out together with Carlotta Zaganelli, my twin sister, photographer and multidisciplinary artist. A journey into our identities starting from the personal stories of our two grandmothers, Vittoria and Anita. Two women born in the early 1900s, the first in Somalia, daughter of Italian settlers, the second in Switzerland, daughter of anarchists. Two women daughters of an Italy at the dawn of fascism and a Europe torn apart by two world wars. An expedition of reconnecting and sewing with our ancestors, with our matriarchal line and its traumas.
