The Game We Play

Italiano

Three bodies, three performers, three players move, challenging each other and relying on a game whose rules change every time; the system alters itself, the landscapes modifies, the challenges vary, opening up similar but different universes in which these bodies oscillate, like spinning tops, in a Dance of Flexibility.

The Game We Play investigates the theme of the Playing, focusing on the Blindman's Bluff system and shows its choreographic, spatial and relational dynamics.
The Game is here the engine of movement, of dances and it is also a paradigm of reality.
In a game, as in life, we act and interact in a space/time/system defined by rules for variable purposes and objectives; a system that is sometimes desired, sometimes imposed upon. The choice of how to play the game, of following a rule rather than breaking it, puts the player in a continuous oscillatory motion between decision and action. Playing gives us the possibility to create continuous alternatives to the game itself, to the system in place and to our way of moving within it.

Workshop

The project is also articulated through workshops with amateurs and movement professionals during which childhood games are experimented with by alternating the rules that build them and observing the mechanisms and relational dynamics that take place.
